Description
SUMMARY
Works with the Assistant Controller and Senior Accountants to ensure compliance with the Companies financial policies. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Prepares monthly DER and other internal financial statements.
  • Reconciles high priority GL reconciliations for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Prepares weekly Monday Report for review.
  • Reviews and tests all lease items to determine if Capital or Operating Leases and maintains Lease schedules.
  • Reviews and coordinates the approval of Requested Assets forms (CapEx) and creates RAs into SAP sub ledger.
  • Runs monthly depreciation and maintains Fixed Assets sub ledger in SAP reconciled to Frontier.
  • Prepares all workbooks for Cash Management and Treasury items.
  • Reconciles bank statements monthly.
  • Prepares property tax accruals and maintains workbooks representing the balance until payment due.
  • Understands and prepares journal entries for all accruals and general accounting.
  • Creates reports requested by Assistant Controller/Controller and CFO.
  • Prepares with staff all census reports.
  • Prepares all Annual Filing documents for all states, cities, and counties as needed.
  • Understands and can manipulate the company financial model.
  • Acts as a budget specialist for certain cost centers to prepare all cycle forecasts and ensure they are done timely and accurately.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring projects for the accounting department.
  • Other projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Must have one to three years accounting experience at a professional level.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)

LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be able to articulate information in a professional manner. Presentation skills are also important.  Also must be able to facilitate meetings with small and large groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to perform and understand the following:  simple algebra, elementary statistics, percentages, fractions and arithmetic.

REASONING ABILITY

Individual and team problem solving.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA, CMA, helpful  (CPP for payroll specialty)

Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
 
Occasional:   activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
