Description

Summary of Job Duties:

The position performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, controls and distribution systems; assisting A/C Technician II and/or Facility Maintenance Team.

  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, ice machines, exhaust fans, etc.

  • Performs scheduled maintenance inspections and checks equipment for proper operating condition, makes necessary adjustments, cleans and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations.

  • Repairs wiring and electronic components associated with automated building management systems

  • Maintains, repairs and replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units, blowers and other component parts.

  • Cleans refrigerant systems; evacuates, and charges systems.

  • Keeps required records and logs for pressure, temperature, air flow and relative humidity.

  • Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.

  • Other general Facility Maintenance duties that may be assigned.

 

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

  • Valid driver’s license with class E qualification and clean driving record.

  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment and other HVAC equipment.

  • Must actively participate as a member of the team and be willing to maintain high levels of productivity, occasionally sustaining longer working hours when necessary.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Mechanical aptitude, technical school training in HVAC.

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in HVAC trade.

  • Attention to detail and established procedures.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work while standing for a long periods of time.
