|Title:||Electrical Controls Technician|
Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties not specifically identified in this job description, as may be assigned.
Design, implement, and support ladder logic programs, servo/stepper controller programs, and HMI programs for automated machinery, using RS Logix or other software
Tests motor control devices, frequency drives, servos, transformers, solenoids, and other industrial controls equipment and components.
Diagnoses cause of electrical, mechanical, programmable logic malfunction on operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
Review, analyze and modify if needed any electrical blueprints for assigned machine system or equipment modifications or expansion
Design electrical systems, panels and/or enclosures for automated machinery based on information provided by machine needs. Within project develop estimate of time and materials
Provide technical support to the maintenance and manufacturing departments.
Ability to establish priorities to respond to company needs
Supporting existing controls reliability for manufacturing operations
Confers with Maintenance and Engineering personnel to assess production machine problems, assist in correcting problems and seek additional guidance in addressing problems
Adhere to company standards and local/state/federal electrical codes
Assists with panel building, wiring and pneumatics plumbing.
Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including electrical meters, fork trucks, drills, grinders, saws, punches, taps, and a variety of other hand tools

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Engineering or Electronics preferred
Training in Ladder Logic and Motor Controls including servo control
Five years experience in manufacturing environment preferred
Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word)
Experience with integration of industrial equipment with communication networks
